What a wonderful evening we had back in April 2004, when the TROUPADORS led by Mervyn Jones and Eileen McBride entertained us with all the wartime songs and sketches for a memorable evening. The Union Jack flags were out in abundance and our own folk dressed up 40’s style.
We had a job to recognise the girls with their head scarves and turbans on! The food they served in the interval included spam sandwiches, grey peas and bread pudding.
Even the men got in on the act, David Oakley in his bowler hat and our own Rev. John Davies joined in the festivities too. It was a grand evening enjoyed by all who came and ended with a rousing rendition of “Land of Hope and Glory”. GilbertRowley
